The NCECA Emerging Artist program is intended to give early career artists, who show exceptional promise, the opportunity to present their work to an international audience at the NCECA Annual Conference. Applications are welcomed from professionals in the field of ceramics. Applicants may not be students and may not have received major national attention for their work, (e.g. a one-person exhibition at a nationally prominent gallery or museum).
Applicant MUST be a current NCECA Member at the time of application. NCECA Membership fees are not included in any event registration. Membership is a standalone annual fee. CLICK HERE to apply for or renew your membership.
The selection Committee will consist of an NCECA Director at Large, another NCECA Board Member, and an invited guest juror.
NCECA SELECTED EMERGING ARTISTS
Those selected as Emerging Artists must attend the NCECA conference where they will deliver a 10-minute digital image presentation of their work.
Emerging Artists are required to submit a written summary of their presentation for the NCECA Annual Conference for publication in the NCECA Journal. This summary must be accompanied by five 300 dpi images appropriate for print publication. Submission of this information is necessary to be included in the NCECA Program Guide.
A contract with pertinent information will be sent to the selected artists soon after jurying is completed. Selected artists’ images and application materials will be retained by NCECA and will be held in the NCECA archives. Images may be used to advertise the Emerging Artists program and may be posted on the NCECA website. Emerging Artists will be ineligible for consideration as conference demonstrators for three years following their Emerging Artist presentation.
