Patsy Cox received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and Ceramics from Missouri State University and her Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics and Sculpture from the University of Delaware. She is currently an Associate Professor of Art and Head of the Ceramics area at California State University, Northridge, where she has served as Associate Chair and is currently serving as Graduate Coordinator for the Art Department. Patsy has been involved with coordinating several Summer Arts courses for the California State University system. She was a Getty Scholar Linking Service Learning and the Visual Arts and has served on the board of The National Council for the Education of Ceramic Art as a Director-at-Large from 2003-2005.

Patsy has a background in production pottery and her current focus has been on large multi-part installation based work. Her work has been featured in several ceramic focused periodicals and books and she has lectured extensively. Patsy has exhibited both nationally and internationally and has been included most recently in; On the Verge: Contemporary Ceramics at the Ulrich Museum of Art, Wichita, Kansas, at Grossmont College, El Cajon, California with Urban Rebutia, in Oceano Romantico at the Los Angeles World Airport and in the Taiwan Ceramics Biennale, Taipei. She lives and maintains a productive studio space in Los Angeles, California.
