Cindy Bracker has had a love for clay since the day her dad inspired her to use her Playdough Fun Factory with potter’s clay and fire her creations in his Salt Kiln. She has worked continuously at Bracker’s Good Earth Clays for the last 20 years and enjoys the daily opportunity to get to know potters, students, teachers, manufacturers and other suppliers from across the country and even internationally. In the studio, Cindy enjoys handbuilding and surface decoration.
Cindy’s involvement with NCECA began as a commercial exhibitor in 1995. She became more involved in the organization during the year prior to the 2002 Kansas City NCECA Conference. For the last three years, Cindy has served the organization as Director-at-Large and member of several standing committees and task forces. In this role, Cindy has also been given the opportunity to work on several projects such as the NCECA gallery expo, the creation and management of the NCECA Blog, YouTube channel and pinterest board, the NCECA smartphone app, and general social media management.
Cindy also served on the board of the KC Clay Guild as scholarship chair for five years, on the board of the Kansas Art Education Association as Commercial Liaison for three years and as Co-coordinator of the 2008 KAEA Fall conference. Outside of the world of clay, Cindy is an avid Mac user with multiple Apple certifications. From 2007-2012, she managed an Apple Specialist business, (concurrent to her employment at Bracker’s), the last three of those years as the owner. Cindy is also passionate about music, dance and running & kickboxing.
