Undergraduate and Graduate Student Fellowship Awards

NCECA’s purpose is to promote and improve the ceramic arts through education, research, and creative practice. The following Fellowships are one of the means by which we accomplish this goal.

The Regina Brown Undergraduate Student Fellowship

It is a pleasure to announce The 9th Regina Brown Undergraduate Student Fellowship Awards to be presented next March at our annual conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.   This is an annual award open to full-time undergraduate students matriculated in a degree program at an accredited college, university or art institute in the U.S. The student must have attained the classification of at least a "junior" or its equivalent. There is no age limit. Anyone who has received a major grant or fellowship is not eligible. Nominations are made by a ceramics teacher who has taught the student with an additional letter of support. A student may nominate himself/herself, but letters of support by two teachers must be submitted. The student must make a project proposal for use of the $1800.00 award (cannot include payment of tuition) and must submit additional materials as specified in the "Instructions for Nominations". A maximum of three awards may be made, of which $1300.00 is presented at the conference. The balance of $500.00 is paid when a project report is submitted to the NCECA office.   The selection committee includes the Past President (chair), the Student DAL and a third ceramist of stature (an Honorary Member whenever possible) appointed by the President.

All nomination materials must be received by the Regina Brown Undergraduate Student Fellowship Committee and postmarked by November 15, 2007 .

Anyone who has received a major grant or fellowship is not eligible. Nominations are made by a ceramics teacher who has taught the student with an additional letter of support. A student may nominate himself/herself, but letters of support by two teachers must be submitted. The student must make a project proposal for use of the $2000.00 award (cannot include payment of tuition) and must submit additional materials as specified in the "Instructions for Nominations". A maximum of three awards may be made, of which $1500.00 is presented at the conference. The balance of $500.00 is paid when a project report is submitted to the NCECA office.

All nomination materials must be received by the NCECA Graduate Student Fellowship Committee and postmarked by November 15, 2007 .
