and

K-12 Image Forums

Graduate Students’ and International signup and scheduling of presentations will take place Wednesday, March 19, 1:00-5:00 p.m., Concourse BC in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.  Time slots will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis.  The Graduate Students’ and International Image Forums are scheduled on Thursday and Friday, March 20-21, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.  The Graduate Students’ Image Forum will take place in Room 306 and the International Image Forum will take place in Room 307. The K-12 Image Forum is scheduled Friday, March 21, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in Room 308.  All Image Forums are located in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

The Image Forums Presentation Rooms will be equipped with one 35mm projector, one screen, one computer, and one digital projector.  Volunteers will be on hand to assist you.  If you plan to do a digital presentation, it should either be on a CD or DVD.  Save your presentation as both a PowerPoint Presentation and a PowerPoint Show on the same device.  If you prefer, you may bring your personal laptop with your PowerPoint or iPhoto presentation loaded and ready for viewing.  Please remember to have your laptop battery ready, bring your power cord, and projector adaptor if you are bringing a Mac.

If you have any questions regarding PowerPoint, contact NCECA Audio Visual Technicians, Ken McCollum at 740-826-8102, or Chris Stanley at 432-853-5809.  You can access PowerPoint at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/FX010857971033.aspx.  NCECA is not responsible for poor quality images.   It is important that you view your presentation through a projector on a projection screen to see how the images appear.  If your presentation is by slide format use paper or plastic mounts to prevent jams (glass and thick mounts do not work well in the standard Kodak Projectors).

Forum participants will have access to a Presenters’ Prep Room in Room 313, Wednesday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.  You are encouraged to bring your own pre-loaded tray to save time.

Graduate Students’ Image Forum.  Interested graduate students are encouraged to prepare a 15-minute image presentation.  Share your work with 4,500 ceramic artists, educators, and fellow students who will be in attendance.  NCECA looks forward to your participation.  If you have any questions, contact Sally Brogden, 824 Carrington Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37909, 865-692-1251, sbrogden@utk.edu.

International Image Forum.  NCECA international members are invited and encouraged to present images of your workplace/studio and your home country.  NCECA is pleased to offer you the opportunity to share your images with 4,500 colleagues who will attend the annual conference.  Presentations are limited to 15-20 minutes in length.  NCECA looks forward to your participation and in continuing the growth of the international representation at the conference.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Steve Driver, 1206 Locust Street, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301, 270-686-4205, stephend@brescia.edu.

The K-12 Image Forum is an opportunity to showcase and share outstanding K-12 ceramic programs; innovative ceramic curriculum; teaching and learning; research; authentic assessment and quality student artwork.  Presenters are encouraged to relate the above to the theme of the conference.  Presentations are limited to 20 minutes in length.  If you have any questions, please contact Barbara Beasley, Clovis West High School, 1070 E. Teague, Fresno, California 93720, 559-645-5830, bdb_c_19@hotmail.com.
